Howdy, welcome to my blog. I'm Eryn Corinth, an avid cyclist, feminist, and outdoor enthusiast. I graduated from Alma College in 2020 with a degree in Anthropology and Religious Studies and opted for the non-traditional post college graduation route of completing a year of national and community service with AmeriCorps NCCC - FEMA Corps. In FEMA Corps, I have traveled and worked in Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and Washington, DC assisting FEMA with logistics, administrative support, and disaster survivor assistance. My hobbies (other than biking) include hiking, camping, learning about trees, kayaking, being outside, and hanging out with friends.
I own two bikes, a mountain bike and a gravel bike. The mountain bike is a Trek 2010 1500 Series named Lucy, after Australpithecus afarensis. This is an entry level mountain bike, with "v" breaks. The gravel bike is a 2019 Raleigh Amelia 1 named Rory, after Orrorin tugenensis. The Raleigh has drop down bars and disc breaks.

music artist: Xana & Taylor Swift
podcast: You Can Sit With Us
book: Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown
tree: white pine
My inspiration for long distance biking came when I read Juliana Buhring's book, This Road I Ride, about her Guinness World Record circumnavigation of the globe by bicycle.
My cycling accomplishments include the Mountain Bike Epic: Soft Rock and Hard Rock, cycling across the Upper Peninsula, the Iceman Cometh Challenge, and biking around Grand Island & Bois Blanc Island.
In the summer of 2018 I took on two cycling endeavors - on 22 July I cycled across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and roughly two weeks later, cycled in the Ore to Shore Hard Rock (48 miles) in Marquette on 11 August.
In the summers of 2019 and 2020 I biked over 1,000 miles while working a full time summer job.
In the summer of 2021, I did not step foot on a bike due to working with FEMA Corps away from Michigan. However, here's some other cool things I did: went trail riding, learned how to catch shrimp with my hands, saw alligators and pelicans, and learned how to drive 3 types of forklifts!
